ITINERARY

Pickup from the hotel or an agreed point (we suggest pickup time 07:00hrs), Short briefing with your safari guide and drive toward the western region of Uganda through the central region known as Buganda region which is scenic and rich in culture.
As you driver is explaining about the life of Ugandan, watch out for the road side open markets where flesh foods are being sold, people walking to gardens with hand hoes and pangas or women currying a child on the back heading to farms. Leg stretch or coffee stop at the equator is recommended, though it can as well be done on your way back. Proceed to your lodge, inside the park or at the edge of park for a hot lunch, check in and afternoon boat cruise on the lake.
The afternoon two/three-hour boat cruise is famous for attracting a variety of animals that come to quench their thirst from the lake banks. Watch out for hippos, massive Nile Crocodiles, Buffaloes, waterbucks, lots of birds such as African Fish Eagle (the master of stealth), the elusive African finfoot which is among the top ten must see birds of Uganda (here you have better chances of sighting it than any other place) among others. After your boat cruise, have a short game drive as you head to lodge. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Accommodation: Mihingo Safari lodge, Rwakobo Rock Lodge, Mpogo Safari lodge
Meal Plan: Full board
Drive time: 3-4 hours
We have had positive feedback from our recent trips about the evening game drive especially with high chances of sighting leopards and Hyenas. However, we can’t guarantee that you will see them when you book this night game drive. Other animals are active at night include porcupines, pangolins, owls, bats among others.
After an early breakfast (we suggest 06:00hrs), you head out for a morning game drive in search of wildlife including leopards, Hyenas, zebras, waterbucks, topis, impalas, warthogs, buffaloes, giraffes, hippos returning to the lake among others.
After your morning game drive, return to lodge, check out and head back to Kampala. Incase you are interested in souvenir shopping, there are several local craft shops where you can buy local hand made items for your home as you support the host communities. Proceed to the drop off destination or point.
In case on the first day you did not stop for the equator experience, now would be the time before you proceed to Kampala.
